June on the River Lochy

Chasing big salmon in Scotland isn’t an easy task. Some rivers still offer a genuine chance of bumping into a big silver tourist but it’s far from being predictable. The Spey and Tay still produce some big springers, with March through to May, typically being the best period. The River Lochy is another possibility, although the 10kg plus salmon have been rather scarce these past few years. May and June offer the best chance.
